Research & Extension

The department has identified Groundwater, Environment, Quaternary Geology, Remote Sensing and Geomorphology as thrust areas of the research. Environmental pollution including water, air and soil, monitoring and evaluation studies is being carried out in and around Parbhani city.

The department also actively participates in the earthquake monitoring studies in this area. Few Sponsored research projects are completed and ongoing in the areas of hydrogeological aspects in and around, Parbhani district, Quaternary geology and geomorphology of the Killari-Latur region along Terna-Manjra river basin and Godavari valley etc.

The research ambience of the teachers can be reflected through their research approach from quantitative to qualitative in terms of publishing papers. Many important research papers are being published in thrust areas mentioned above.

Research Projects: The dapertment has completed five major and minor research projects and raised more than Rs. 26 lakhs. There are two on-going projects funded by UGC and University.

Memorandum of Understanding

The department has signed Memorandum of understanding with School of Earth Sciences, S.R.T.M. University, Nanded.

  • The school (University) signed an Memorandum of Understanding with National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad

Teaching & Learning

  • Sophisticated Teaching aids like LCD projectors, e-learning CDs and Web-based materials are used in the regular teaching. Teaching is student focused. There is incremental growth in the percentage of the passed out students.

  • The faculty of the school of earth sciences is student friendly and is accessible to the students even after class room teaching
