Introduction :
The roots of the Department of Sociology at D.S.M.'s College of Arts, Commerce & Science, Parbhani, run deep, dating back to the establishment of the college in 1984. Since its inception, the Department of Sociology has been an integral part of the college's academic fabric, contributing significantly to the institution's commitment to providing higher and quality education, especially to rural students.
Dr. B. R. Suryawanshi served as the head of the department from the opening of the college until March 2010, providing foundational leadership during the formative years. Dr. V. L. Suryawanshi assumed the role of department head from April 2010 to June 2017, steering the department through a period of growth and academic excellence. Currently, Mr. Sandeep Patil holds the position of the head of the department, bringing his expertise and vision to guide the department forward.
